On-chain copy trading watches a chosen wallet and mirrors its swaps from your own non-custodial wallet. You pay the same platform and network fees as any other trade, and your fills arrive after the leader's, so your entry price is usually worse than theirs.

What actually happens when you copy a wallet

You pick a wallet address, set a fixed amount or a percentage per trade, and the platform submits a matching swap from your wallet whenever that address buys. Nothing is pooled and nobody manages your funds — it is automation over public on-chain activity.

Why your returns lag the leader

  • Latency: your order lands one or more blocks later, after the price has already moved.
  • Size: a leader's fill on thin liquidity may be unrepeatable at your size.
  • Exits: many copy setups mirror buys faster than sells, which is the expensive half.
  • Fees: you pay full platform, network and slippage costs on every mirrored trade.

Picking a wallet to copy

Judge a wallet on a long window, not a single win. Look for consistent realised profit across dozens of trades, a survivable drawdown, and a trade frequency you can afford at your fee level. A wallet that trades fifty times a day will cost you fifty platform fees a day.

FAQs

Is copy trading custodial?

On the platforms in our ranking it is not: trades execute from a wallet you control. You are granting automation permission, not handing over funds.

Can I copy trade from Telegram?

Several Telegram bots support it. The trade-off is less visibility into the wallet's history than a full web terminal gives you.

About the author

The TraderView research desk compiles platform data from official documentation, app store listings and public fee schedules, and records every claim against a dated source. Where a platform does not publish a figure, the desk publishes 'Not publicly confirmed' rather than an estimate.

Editorial review checks every published page against the scoring methodology, verifies that outbound destinations match the link registry, and confirms that affiliate relationships are disclosed before the page goes live.
